Quilting with Minnesota Quilters On the banks of the Mississippi River

The Rivers Edge Convention Center was home to this years Minnesota Quilters Guild show. This magnificent quilt show is run  primarily by volunteers, and is one of the best independent shows in the country.  Thanks to AnnMarie Yohnk, the faculty coordinator for the show, I was asked to lecture and teach.

Some of my favorite sights at the show included stunning quilts.

This beautiful quilt, "My First Trip to Baltimore",  was made by Carolyn Stine from Springfield, IL. As a teacher at the show, I was given the opportunity to award a Teachers Choice ribbon. You can see why I chose this beautiful Baltimore Album quilt.

My favorite booth was Fiberworks, owned by Laura Heine. Laura's original quilt designs combined with her wonderful color sense made for a delightful display. Find her at fiberworks-Heine.com.

What a joy to see an old friend at the show. I ran into Patricia Cox who was appraising quilts. Patricia is a very talented quilt designer specializing in beautiful hand applique and hand quilted original Baltimore Album and reproduction quilts. She was very encouraging when I met her seven years ago at quilt market in Houston. She helped convince me to go after my dream of making Rotary Cut Appliqué into a business. When I asked her to take a photo with me, her response was delightful!  "Wow, my First Selfie!"

If you ever have the opportunity to attend Minnesota's Annual Quilt Show, make sure you jump at that chance! Thank you and Goodbye Minnesota!
